Suggest A Rant
Nov 2nd, 2006 by Jeremy
This site is in some ways a little bit of therapy for me. I get to write about what bugs me, so cat’s out of the bag. I will likely (hopefully) have family and friends read this blog periodically, so there are likely a few topics I need to be selective about. Yeah, I might pull a few punches where it counts. But, you don’t have to!
I am particularly interested in seeing what bothers other people, and I welcome (actually beg for) your suggestions to be added to the site. Why should you take the time? Whatever motivates you to I guess. Therapy for you, hopefully. Fix a few people in the world of what bothers you, not likely, but anything is possible. Notoriety and some bragging rights for being “published,” absolutely!
So please submit as many ideas as you like. Submit the idea only once, even if you don’t see it posted for while. If it is a lame idea, in my sole and personal view, you’ll never see it posted on the main page, but it can live in in glory right here on the suggest-a-rant page. If the idea has merit, I’ll eventually get it posted. And yes, your email is absolutely safe with me. I’ll never post or share your email and I don’t send out spam. I will post credit for your rant idea/comments and a link back to your site though, which is another good bonus!
You are welcome to post a 1 or 2 sentence suggested rant that is great, or if you would like to compose the entire rant, even better! I’ll take ‘em however I can get ‘em.
I have just added the Karma plugin by Alex Bailey so everyone can add their vote on ideas. You can use this any comment on the site as well.
If you are interested in contributing regularly to the site, see the Author’s Wanted page.

people driving and talking on cell phones
cashiers who are rude and argue with you
so loud other people in line can hear
people who read my postings on a forum
wrong
Hi all, I’m going to rant about taking personal feelings out on others. If you have something your upset about, don’t take it out on some one else. I hope we all realize it’s not a good thing to do. It just hurts others in the end. I only hope that if you do, that you apologize to the person you’ve upset. Thanks for reading. I hope this makes sense.
This topic goes under family.
POLITICS Blah~!
Hey, I have a really good rant. I am so sick of Hollywood political voices. They use their media status to promote and push their ideas. Don’t they realize that we know they don’t live in the REAL WORLD. You know… The one where you actually have to pay for your dinners and things aren’t always comp’d. They are actors! musicians! They are busy going to parties and showing of their collectable cars. WHO Cares what they think!
I find Celebrity campaining annoying!
Gum on the streets.
I cannot belive how many people throw their chewing gum on the pavement (sidewalk in the US) yesterday I was walking down the street with my teenage daughter and pointed out to her that the section of street we where walking on had white spots all over it from Gum. I said that if people kept this up in a few years we will just be walking on a sticky surface, maybe thats the good side to it no accident claims for bad pavements as you will not be able to fall because you will be stuck to it!!!!!
Suggestion(s) for rant:
(1) People talking on their cell phones so loud that you know what is going on in their life. What about those PROFESSIONALS (i.e., doctors, attorneys) in which you have client privileges - no such thing if you listen to some of these people talk. Seeing people talk on their cell phones while driving - yet not paying attention.
(2) Tips at a restaurant, tips at a car wash, you must tip everyone. How about the restaurants that are now adding the 20% tip onto your bill automatically. Does this mean we can’t expect friendly and courteous service any longer because that person who is serving you doesn’t care as he/she will get their tip no matter what??? What gives????

Would it be a good idea to add a section here to balance against the number of “rants” and list some “raves” too?
In my many years of shopping and dealing with rude people, the people I feel
the sorriest for are the Cashiers. They get all the guff when we get done
shopping. I have had people take it out on me as I ring them out when the
store is out of something. Like its my fault it didn’t get ordered. I
usually ignored them but if someone was extreamly rude I just remind them I
dont have to ring them out, and I dont have to take the abuse, and then
camly leave my registure and get the store manager and let him/her deal with
them. There have been times after I said this and before I walk away the
person who usually has shocked look on there faces and say’s I’m sorry I
didn’t mean to take it out on you. I dont work in retail anymore but I
remember the days so I try to be extra nice to who ever is ringing me out.
Something sticks in my craw when I hear the pseudo-hip “back in the day” gratuitously slipped into a commentary or conversation. Does it stop anyone else, and cause some loss of credibility toward the speaker?
Tacky brides. Twice now I’ve been invited to bachelorette parties and wedding showers but not the actuall wedding. WTF? It’s just rude.
pardon my spelling error in my last comment…I’m sure plenty of people rant about those who don’t spell check…
Here’s my suggestion for a rant:
Oncoming vehicles that do not turn their brights off at night and blind you !!
What really bugs me is women, and sometimes men, who wear so much cologne that my dead grandma can smell it! It’s offensive and it gives me a headache. Everyone who does this should know that there are people who won’t like the smell and there are people who are allergic to it.
I actually thought this was a widely known rule of etiquette but, apparently, there are those who haven’t heard it yet. They are defeating their purpose of smelling good when they apply too much. And, trust me, people are talking s*** about you behind your back for it.
I was on an airplane and the flight attendant had on perfume that smelled like bug spray and I had a headache for the rest of the day and night.
There is a lady who works in the same building as I who wears so much perfume she leaves her scent in the elevator. Then after she goes outside to smoke she leaves the scent of cigarettes and perfume in the elevator. What a combination. Grrrrr!! Keep your smell to yourself!
People who clip their nails at work with little bits of nail flying all over the place.
Loud Pipes!
Sitting in traffic next to a youth with a base thumping boom box or the neighbor hood
street racer that has a small car with 3 inch tuned exhaust isn’t as bad as the pathetic old guys on Harley’s with loud pipes.
Why don’t they bend those pipes around so they are blasting in there ears instead of mine, then see how cool they think it is.
” Loud Pipes Save lives” is their reason to annoy everyone in a 3 mile radius. Loud pipes also startle other drivers, as they are passing.. they need to invest in an air horn that would direct the noise where it belongs in front !
.
Whether or not Loud Pipes Saves Lives or cause deaths is open to debate.
The truth is that Loud Pipes Risk Rights .
Oh yea while I’m ranting ,helmets save lives. The NFL knew this for years
How did you get this blog, I mean, what company is it by, or did you do this all on you own? I have blogger, and I’m looking for a new blogging site. I can’t say why, don’t want to breach terms of service. Thanks.
