The top headline on CNN today made me feel the need to revisit my comments about how statistics are creatively used, primarily in popular news reporting.
First, I need to ask you to put aside your feelings about the war in Iraq - this is not a discussion on whether we should be there or whether [...]

I have often wondered how many people who watch the Superbowl really do watch for the commercials. I doubt all that many, but it is part of the experience that is looked forward to. I have to confess, I didn’t watch the “big game” this year, but I did record it and will [...]
During my morning online reading ritual I came across what I thought fell under the classification of “stupid news.” Most sites call it “offbeat” or something of that nature, but in this case it just came under the health warning over at CNN. Posted in General Rants, News, TV/Movies on Nov 4th, 2006
Since when did an actor, or actress for that matter, become news. It has become so commonplace in Hollywood for actors that I didn’t realize it was a big deal. Since this site is all about opinions, and I already revealed myself to be a conservative, I think it is a bunch of [...]
Biased Reporting in the News
Posted in General Rants, News, Politics, TV/Movies on Nov 2nd, 2006
Whatever happened to objective, credible reporting? Ok, for the most part it has likely never really existed. But that doesn’t stop me from getting peeved by “articles” that could just have easily been written as a marketing department release by as by a so called reporter.
