Just today, I was waiting to exit a parking lot when a man in a truck stopped short and looked at me. Thinking he meant for me to proceed, I looked for oncoming traffic. I noticed a car approaching. The car made a right turn, without using their signal, as I was waiting to go. When they turned, I started to move onto the roadway. Evidently the man in the truck wasn't waiting any longer, he accelerated rapidly while shaking his head. My wife faults me because I did not signal the man in the truck. She feels I should have nosed out onto the roadway or signaled some other way to the man that I was going to proceed. I felt that when we made eye contact and I looked the other direction was enough of a signal. After all, he just looked at me. He didn't wave or motion in any way for me to proceed. To my wife I was arrogant, and the non-motioning head shaker was totally in the right. So what can someone do when their passanger is overly critical?
