My husband was like that when the kids were younger, heck, he is still like that now that they are older. He pretends he doesn't know how to fix them lunch, etc. But, the one who takes the prize for his lack of "know how" when it comes to his babies has to be my brother-in-law. He and my sister-in-law have two small children ages 1 and 2. She has to take them EVERYWHERE she goes day and night because he says he doesn't know what to do if they cry!!! And my SIL takes them and lets him stay home and play games on the computer!!! UGH!!! Such true words Lezhai. If I continue with the honestly, it usually has to do with me being selfish with my time and having a million other things I would rather be doing. When I try to do some of those things and watch the kids at the same time, it is always an exercise in frustration. But, when I kick myself in the rear and just spend quality time with the kids, I (almost) always enjoy the time spent. Go figure why I can't remember that every time I am tasked with my parenting duties. As for the inability to deal with the kids, I would side with the guess that it is a technique to try and get you to deal with it instead of him :) I must admit as a father I don’t always look forward to my “parenting” opportunities.
