“Manhattan Stinks” – is this a new conclusion?
Jan 8th, 2007 by What's Gotta Go
Sorry, I just had to poke fun at New York with this recent news coverage. CNN is reporting “Mystery smell settles over Manhattan” due to a recent strong odor that they cannot find a source of. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years growing up in the great, wonderful state of Washington. The clean air there is largely due to the regular rain, but it is great nonetheless. I have had the opportunity to be in New York more than a few occasions for business, and I have to admit other than visiting the landmarks, catching a show and a good restaurant, I don’t have a lot of love of the big city. I would much rather be out in the great outdoors that includes treas, open air, and preferably some mountains with a river. A beautiful beach rivals as a preferred setting. Yep, the big city stinks is not a new concept to me :)

Can I agree? My nephew will be in New York next summer for an internship; he could have been in Seattle. I hope he gets a “taste” or maybe a “whiff” of the Big Apple and decides he wants to live in a less densely populated area.
Maybe New York is a nice place to visit, but I just wouldn’t want to be somewhere that has SO MANY people. A little space is nice!
Hear Hear Jeremy! Ah, nothing beats the clean fresh Mountain air!
Mystery smell….I think the wind changed direction and is blowing in from Jersey….
:)
I grew up on a farm that was between a bull stud farm and a dairy farm…and we had chickens…NYC smells like a rose to me! LOL!
