Having worked at an elementary school, I have seen my share of spoiled brats. 99.95% of the time (I know, it's shocking) it's all the parents fault. Of course, you do have the occasional kid that has wonderful parents, and he really is the "black sheep" of the family. But most of the time, those parents just need to learn how to say no! It's like they are worried that they're abusing their child by not buying them anything and everything they want. Even if that means the rest of the family has to suffer. I think there needs to be some manditory parenting classes for anyone who wants to have a child and doesn't know that the word NO is okay.

Considering we had two, yes TWO, issues with this at our Yule party this year, I have to agree. Both girls, aged 9-10, should definitely have known better, and both mothers (no father figures at this time in their lives) could have and should have taught them better.

Teren occassionally falls down on this with his vocals, but he is working on it, and can usually at least thank the person no matter what, finding something positive or at least neutral about the gift.

Definitely not the whole face crumpling, voice whining, slouching and foot-stomping attitude we dealt with with the girls.
